Welcome
Welcome to the website of Cardiff Medics' First Responders - we are volunteers from Cardiff University School of Medicine who live and work within Heath/Gabalfa/Cathays areas of Cardiff. Working in partnership with the Welsh Ambulance Service, we respond to life threatening emergency medical calls within our area, providing vital assistance to patients prior to the arrival of the ambulance.
Our teams are entirely self funded and therefore rely on fund raising and kind donations from local people, businesses and organisations, to help purchase equipment and keep the scheme operational.

Getting started...
Hi everyone, Just a reminder the ambulance service have mentioned to us recently that the number of shifts being done is a bit lower than they'd expect. Just wanted to send a reminder of how to sign up and to clear up some queries that a few people have had...
Firstly, a lot of people's ID badges will have expired by now, however this isn't a problem. The ambulance service were planning to send out new badges without any expiry dates on them, however this may take a while and in the meantime just ignore the date on the badge, they are still fine to use on shift (it's unlikely you would ever be challenged about this..!).
The best way to sign up is through this website on the timeslot section, but some of your usernames may not have been activated if you didn't email in when you got your CRB back which means you can't access the timeslots page. If so email in your username, from when you first registered on this website, to cardiffmedicsfirstresponders@googlemail.com . Ideally, online sign-up is preferred but as long as we know the kit is with you, then it's not a huge problem.
The number to request the kit is 07891339582 (Josie) and either you can pick it up from us or we'll direct you to another member if it is already in their possession. Instructions on how to sign on to ambulance control etc are in the pack with the kit. After your shift, it is best to return the kit- again simply arrange that using the contact number above.
Lastly, some of you may still be without t-shirts (or ID badges), if this is the case then email cardiffmedicsfirstresponders@googlemail.com I understand it is difficult if you're on placement and with exams to find time to do a shift, but there is no obligation for shift length and if you sign on then decide you want to finish a few hours later, that's fine too.
Hope that clears up a few things, and any questions at all feel free to email or use the number above.
Thanks!
