Welcome
Welcome to the website of Cardiff Medics' First Responders - we are volunteers from Cardiff University School of Medicine who live and work within Heath/Gabalfa/Cathays areas of Cardiff. Working in partnership with the Welsh Ambulance Service, we respond to life threatening emergency medical calls within our area, providing vital assistance to patients prior to the arrival of the ambulance.
Our teams are entirely self funded and therefore rely on fund raising and kind donations from local people, businesses and organisations, to help purchase equipment and keep the scheme operational.

All Responders - Please read!!
Just a quick note for the attention of all responders regarding kitbag responsibilities:
A problem has come to light this weekend involving passing on the kit. The demand for shifts has increased recently so the kit is being passed on more quickly than in the past. If you are in possession of the kitbag and are, for example, going away for the weekend please can you ensure other responders can access the kit by either passing the kit to me, passing it on early to the next scheduled responder or ensuring the kit can be accessed another way e.g. via housemates (not ideal). Even if there are no scheduled shifts in the time period you are away for please pass it back to myself in case of last minute shifts being organised. This will avoid the situation we had this weekend where several responders have given up their time and have been unable to do their shifts. If you are ever unsure just get in contact with me (contact details via facebook group).
Thanks for your attention and sorry to nag!
Kate
